Understanding how viewers engage with your videos is just as important as sharing them. Screencastify's latest updates to Video Analytics, Video Settings, and Custom Due Dates give educators and teams more visibility into viewer progress and more flexibility to manage required viewing.
Here's what's new and how you can put these updates to work.
Get Deeper Insights with Video Analytics
Screencastify's enhanced Video Analytics makes it easier to see who is watching, how much they've watched, and whether they've completed a video.
Creators can filter viewer analytics and quiz responses using All Viewers/All Responders or People with Access. The People with Access view includes individuals and groups invited by email and can be further filtered by custom groups.
The Viewer Analytics table now includes:
- Watch Progress to see how much of a video each viewer has watched
- Quiz Score for videos with questions
- Due Date for each viewer
- Completed Date/Time to see when viewing requirements were completed
New Percentage Watched and Percentage Completed metrics provide a quick look at overall engagement. You can also download Viewer Analytics as a CSV for reporting or record keeping.
A video is considered completed once a viewer watches the entire video and answers any associated questions. Viewers that are signed in will also be tracked by their account name and email, even when tracking is set to Track by name or Track anonymously.
Monitor Viewer Engagement
Teachers can quickly check whether students have fully watched an assigned lesson and completed all questions. Professional development specialists and administrators can use the same analytics to monitor required training and identify participants who may need a reminder or follow-up.

Apply Video Settings to Any Video
Prevent Skipping and Due Dates can now be applied to any video, even if it doesn't include questions.
Prevent Skipping, Due Dates, and Enable Watcher Translation are now conveniently located in the Settings tab on the Video Management Page.

Viewers will see their due date and completion status on the Watch Page and Shared with Me page. People with Access will also receive an automatic reminder email two days before the due date. Creators can choose to receive an email notification when someone completes a video after the deadline.
Manage Required Viewing
A teacher can require students to watch an entire instructional video by setting a due date, even when there isn't a quiz attached. Administrators and professional development teams can do the same for announcements, onboarding, or required training, while automatic reminders help keep viewers on track.
Set Custom Due Dates for Individuals and Groups
Not every student, class, or team needs the same deadline.
With Custom Due Dates, creators can assign different due dates to individual viewers or groups from the Share Video modal or the Viewers tab on the Video Management Page.
Create Deadlines That Fit Your Audience
Teachers can give different due dates to individual students or class periods, making it easier to accommodate different schedules and needs.
For professional development and onboarding, teams can assign deadlines based on when someone joins. New team members can receive a due date that works with their start date without changing the deadline for everyone else.
