How to Modernize Your Class Instantaneously💡

What You’ll Learn: Learn how to create more equitable experiences in the classroom by using the Modern Classroom approach. Coupled with Screencastify and other tools, participants will walk away knowing how to create a more blended learning experience for their students and examine strategies to increase equity and inclusion overnight

When is it? Wednesday, June 28, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Hexagonal Thinking: Six Ways to Build Connections 🛠

What You’ll Learn: A highlight of hexagonal thinking in several elementary classrooms, including several grade levels, as well as providing scaffolding for a variety of learners. Students can use this format to debate and provide evidence for their connections, and to work collaboratively and record their connections via Screencastify.

When is it? Wednesday, June 28, 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Designing for Deeper, Personalized Learning 🙋

What You’ll Learn: Schools around the globe are using the 4 Shifts discussion protocol to push their pedagogy to new levels. See the (re)design of lessons for deeper learning, greater student agency, more authentic work and rich technology infusion. And use actual lesson plans and video exemplars in this active session.

When is it? Sunday, June 25, 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Student Storytelling Done Digitally 📸

What You’ll Learn: Discover and explore numerous genres digital storytelling. Projects like book trailers, public service announcements, nonfiction narrative docudramas, podcasts, vision videos and numerous curricular applications will be reviewed and examples shared. We'll break into guided work groups to dig deeper and experience the design process of storyTelling done digitally.

When is it? Sunday, June 25, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Video to Create Student-Driven Portfolios for Goal Setting 📈

What You’ll Learn: Explore how students can claim ownership of their learning with an evolving portfolio that uses voice and video to support goal setting. The strategies can be applied to a number of programs across all subject areas, and use digital tools to support data collection.

When is it? Monday, June 26, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

One-Minute Long Documentaries 🎬

What You’ll Learn: In this visual storytelling session, educators will explore how to create short documentary projects that allow students to tell stories they’re passionate about to inspire understanding and social good. We’ll also explore apps and tools that allow for simple video creation for all ages.

When is it? Monday, June 26, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
