Thank you for using Screencastify! We have developed these Community Guidelines to protect our users and they are incorporated into our Terms of Use. These Community Guidelines set forth what is permitted and not permitted when you use Screencastify to create and share videos or any other user-generated Content (defined in our Terms of Use).
We will remove any User Generated Content or activity that violates these Community Guidelines and may do so without notifying you in advance. In these circumstances, we reserve the right to terminate your Castify account at our discretion depending on the circumstances of the violation(s). If you see content you believe violates these Community Guidelines, please notify us we will review it and make a removal determination.
Please note, these Community Guidelines are aspirational and it is not possible for us to catch all User Generated Content that violates them, nor is it possible for us to prevent users from creating content on Castify and exporting to other platforms.
Fraud and Deceptive Practices. You can’t create or share User Generated Content that encourages or facilitates fraudulent or deceptive activities. This includes investment or financial scams, identity scams, and bribery, as well as other content intending to deceive consumers.
Nudity and Sexual Content. You can’t create or share User Generated Content that displays nudity or sexual activity. This includes User Generated Content that draws attention to sexual violence, exploitation, or solicitation, whether of adults or children.
Violence. User Generated Content cannot incite or facilitate severe violence, and we will work with law enforcement when we believe there is a genuine risk of physical harm or direct threats to the public safety. We consider the language of the User Generated Content and context surrounding the User Generated Content in order to discern whether such User Generated Content constitutes a credible threat.
Dangerous Individuals or Groups. We do not permit any individuals that assert a violent mission or are engaged in violence to use Screencastify. This includes individuals involved in terrorist activities, organized hate, murder, human trafficking, and organized violence or criminal activity. We remove User Generated Content that expresses support or praise for groups, leaders, or individuals involved in such activities.
Suicide and Self-Injury. Do not post or share User Generated Content that promotes, encourages, coordinates, or provides instructions for suicide or self-injury. We will contact emergency services if we determine that someone is at immediate risk of harming him or herself.
Hate Speech. You can’t create or share User Generated Content that includes hate speech, which we define as a direct attack against a person on the basis of protected characteristics such as race, ethnicity, national origin, disability, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity and serious disease.
Bullying and Harassment. Do not create or share User Generated Content that is intended to bully or harass other individuals.
Respecting Intellectual Property. Before sharing User Generated Content, please be sure you have the right to do so. We ask that you respect others’ intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks. Our Terms of Use do not allow our users to post User Generated Content that violates someone else’s intellectual property rights, and we will remove any User Generated Content that violates third-party intellectual property rights.
