About the role

Screencastify is in hyper-growth mode. Over the past year, we’ve put many foundational pieces in place to help us maintain and accelerate that growth. We’re looking for our first Staff Accountant to help support Screencastify’s near and continued long-term success.

What you'll do

  • Process all accounts payable transactions
  • Implement a corporate credit card reconciliation process
  • Review corporate credit card reconciliations
  • Set up new vendors in accounting software according to 1099 guidelines; issue 1099s annually
  • Maintain vendor files and set up new files as needed
  • Process vendor invoices by matching to POs or obtaining departmental approval and reconcile monthly vendor statements
  • Record prepaid expenses, fixed asset depreciation, and other accurate monthly journal entries and accompanying reconciliations
  • Manage positive business relationships with customers, vendors, and other outside parties.
  • Review cost center classifications to ensure proper coding
  • Manage workload to adhere to the corporate close calendar
  • Support with various audits (financial statements, bank, external) and tax compliance as needed
  • Seek opportunities to standardize and automate processes to gain efficiencies
  • Assist in updating policies and procedures and support Accounts Receivable

You're perfect for this role if you...

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably high growth SaaS environments and/or public accounting environments.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required (a CPA, or on the path to certification is a plus).
  • Accounts Payable and Balance Sheet reconciliation experience.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP).
  • Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar accounting systems; Bill.com, Brex, Teampay or other expense reporting software, and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Must have solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills required, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s.
  • Proven ability to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects, along with “wearing multiple hats”.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter and problem-solver with minimum direction, while being a good team player.
  • Strong sense of business ethics, integrity and discretion.
  • Effective and decisive under pressure and operating with a sense of urgency.
