About the role

Screencastify is in hyper-growth mode. Over the past year, we’ve put many foundational pieces in place to help us maintain and accelerate that growth. We’re looking for a proven strategic leader to come in as our first Accounting Manager and build the accounting team to help support Screencastify’s near and continued long-term success.

What you'll do

  • Own the key financial data  - this includes all inputs & outputs across the entire chart of accounts 
  • Work with all key stakeholders to ensure timely completion of the financial close
  • Prepare various technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
  • Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP, which includes document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes
  • Assist VP of Finance to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics, including key financial metrics
  • Meet with management team members to review progress against the financial plan and performance of departmental activities
  • Assist with the financial close process - you will have autonomy to build & own the process as well as be responsible for presenting the results to company leadership and the board of directors
  • Assist with the company’s financial statements - P&L/BS/CF - and will help prepare the finance organization for an eventual audit
  • Work hand in hand with the VP of Finance & CEO in enhancing board of directors meeting materials & external reporting
  • Work with the VP of Finance to communicate financial performance and insights to the department leaders and drive strategic decision making
  • Own (and delegate/outsource when appropriate) our payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes

You're perfect for this role if you...

  • Are a CPA and have gone through an audit (client/consultant/auditor)
  • Have 7-8 years experience in accounting (e.g., audit, consulting, FP&A/accounting)
  • Have hands-on experience with SaaS companies with strong knowledge of ASC 606 and accrual accounting
  • Have extensive experience partnering with senior leadership both in finance and cross-functionally
  • Are willing to get your hands dirty, lead by example, and motivate teams both through in-person and remote management
  • Have a data-driven mindset, strong business judgment, and proven ability to perform analysis, draw key insights, and form and execute a strategy
  • Have a proven record of trustworthiness and a desire to do the right thing
